  • Combining features of a chef’s knife and a cleaver, the Santoku is an all-purpose knife that’s ideal for cutting meat, fish and vegetables. The word santoku means “three good things” – a reference to the three cutting tasks it performs so well: slicing, dicing and mincing. AWESOME KNIFE!!

I bought this knife since it was so light weight and super sharp. I use this for all of our cutting needs and it hasn't let us down yet. In fact, I'm buying more of this line today we love the two we bought so much.

    Best buy, by far...

As a cooking instructor, I recommend the Katana Series to my students. For the money, it has my vote as the knifes to get for the home cook. As everyone should know, all knives get dull. With the Katana series and a good wet stone, an indiviual can easly learn to sharpen with a streight, point to hilt edge. My only complant is, why not more styles? I have had my set for years and you can only get the 4 or so individual knives. Chef Jeff Y. Canfield, Ohio

    It's questionable

Purchased our second santoku knife before christmas after 4 uses there were visible signs of chips on the blade. Bed bath and beyond happily exchanged it. I will have to start doing visual inspections on our other 3 knives now because of this.

    My hands-down favorite knife!

This is the most used knife in my block (if you don't count the butcher knife that my husband uses to open bags). I have had it for 2 years and it is still super sharp. The only problem that I have had with it is the fact that if I cut something juicy and let the knife set for any amount of time, it starts to pit and rust. But, if you can wash an dry it right away, it will serve you well.
